LIVE FREE OR DIE

I must say that it’s a real buzz kill to answer the “where are you from?” question in Los Angeles. My response is always a VERY quick “New Hampshire,” and then I have a list of things to say after the pause, because it is always so long. I occasionally get the thumbs up with someone screeching“Live Free or Die,” while making really stupid facial expressions with squinty eyes.Growing up in New Hampshire was great in some respects because my backyard was one half forest and the other half ocean. In fact most people that are from New Hampshire have this luxury. The downside was how small everything seemed and how slow everything moved. I remember my father coming home from Town Hall meetings, being discouraged that local voters would reject grants that would improve communities. I remember my mom being absolutely disgusted with John Sununu and Judd Gregg. It was a state that only recently passed Martin Luther King Day. It was a state that was nicknamed Blue Hampshire. So. I feel for the first time incredibly proud of my State. As most know, on Wednesday, New Hampshire’s Governer John Lynch signed the same sex marriage bill arguing that "a separate system is not an equal system.”Now California must try a new plan. Maybe one that does not march downtown in circles, on the weekends, where we preach to the choir, or where we walk in masses in the evening hours. Maybe there needs to be a new tactic. Although the jokes were always made and the corniness was always there, I must say I find the expression to actually be correct. Live Free or Die. Come on California...If New Hampshire can do it so can we...

DESPERATELY SEEKING
This young girl's voice still echo's in my ears. She sung/spoke to men and woman live on Al Jazeera and made each one tear. I have done late night searches and googled every phrase imaginable. "Desperately Seeking young girl in glasses name"

Turnip and pickle Juice.
Surrounded by tall mountains, chestnut trees and the Mediterranean Sea, we would sit here each morning and eat breakfast. Above is the memorable bergamot and toast.
Amanda standing beside a flock of sheep...
Our room in Crete. The stone from the earth came into our room and kept the temperature cool during the day....We would grill cheese and sage sandwiches when we missed dinner by the fire...which was our only light when the sun went down.
Fish Market. Turkey.
Fish Market. Turkey. The BEAUTIFUL Blue Mosque
April 8th.
The landscape of Tripoli and political posters for the much anticipated June election.

The Bekaa Valley where no tourists were in site. We had the entire Roman ruins to ourselves.
The incredible ghostly Palmyra Hotel sits on top of a Greek Amphitheatre. Archeologists drool for access below, but the family run hotel refuses. The hotel is one of the oldest in Lebanon.
Original Jean Cocteau's hang from the peeling walls. He was one of their favorite guests...as well as Ella Fitzgerald.
Beirut. In the background is the beautiful Hariri Mosque that Rafic Hariri built before he was assassinated. Palmyra Hotel in the morning.

Rosie cheeks can be deceiving....
Sure they can sell out Madison Square Garden and have a consistent top hit but the Kings of Leon are a bunch of pussy's with an ugly, frontman that treats good people like dog shit. I had the wonderful and unique opportunity to witness a video shoot with a ridiculously talented director whose crew(that I am guessing were all working for peanuts, thanks to the economic times) was brutally disrespected by The Kings....There is nothing more disheartening and sad then seeing the ugly side of someone you once admired and love become a big fucking disease that you want to chop out of your life and get rid of, for good. Obviously these boys need to hear their fathers voice echo real hard, who is/was a preacher, one more time: Do unto others as you would have them to unto you.

No Way Jose...

I could not believe my eyes when I saw these in person. These white linen handkerchiefs were inked by Andrew Farnsley with an ordinary blue pen. Although Andrew is not a prisoner, I found out that many handkerchiefs are handed out to prisoners, for artistic purposes.
